McDonald’s CEO Jim Skinner has announced that Tim Fenton, currently president of McDonald’s Asia, Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA) and 39-year veteran with the company, has been elected to the role of chief operating officer, with responsibility for the company’s more than 33,500 restaurants worldwide. Fenton will assume his new role effective 1 July 2012.
Safeway has named Robert Edwards president of the company. Edwards has served as Safeway’s executive vice president and chief financial officer since 2004. He will have overall responsibility for the company’s retail operations, marketing, merchandising, corporate brands, manufacturing, distribution and finance functions. He will continue as chief financial officer until a successor is named to the position.
Heinz has announced the appointment of Matt Hill to president Heinz UK & Ireland. This follows the promotion of Dave Woodward, former president UK & Ireland, Africa and the Middle East, to president of Heinz’s Rest of World business, which was announced on 28 March. Matt Hill joined Heinz as chief marketing officer in August 2010 from Unilever where he spent 17 years in a variety of UK, European and global marketing roles.
NutraCea has announced the appointments of David Hutchinson as senior vice president – operations and Robert Smith PhD as senior vice president – business development.
Nisa has appointed Michael Gisby as group financial controller to further enhance the company’s finance department and to continue to develop its strategy. His new role will include management of Nisa’s financial accounts, cash flow forecasting and planning and management of the department, reporting directly to Simon Webster, finance director.
SPI Group has appointed Nigel Bath as Asia Pacific regional director. In his new role, Bath will be responsible for the pan-regional commercial development of the SPI Group portfolio, with a strong focus on Stolichnaya Premium vodka and the ultra-luxury Elit by Stolichnaya.
