Ice cream and sorbet manufacturer New Forest has launched a new flavour, continental lemon curd.
The latest addition brings “a wonderfully sweet but sharp note to a delicious continental ice cream base”, and is inspired by a traditional recipe handed down through family generations. The ice cream features a generous ripple of real, vibrant lemon curd and a squeeze of juice for a refreshing new flavour.
As with the existing products in the company’s continental range, the new lemon curd flavour has been made without cream to ensure the vibrant, zesty tones of the curd ripple are distinguishable thoughout. A smooth, rich texture provides a delightful bite, while the deep colour of the ripple helps the ice cream to stand out, New Forest said, regardless of whether it is scooped on a cone, in or tub or used to complement other desserts.
Free from articfical colours and flavourings, it joins New Forest Ice Cream’s existing range of over 50 ice creams and sorbets.
New Forest Ice Cream director Christina Veal said: “We have been producing varieties of lemon ice cream for years, however none have compared to the wonderful flavour and rich, deep colour of our new continental lemon curd. With the tangy, sweet but sharp taste coming from the curd ripple and the smooth, indulgent texture being a result of the continental base, designed to offer a light product that accentuates the flavour, we are confident that this new launch will quickly become one of the most popular varieties in our range.”
Designed for scooping, the ice cream makes for a great option for those looking to expand on their take-out cones and tubs or for caterers looking to add variety to their dessert menu. It is produced in both 4 litre catering tubs and 4.75 litre Napoli tubs, easy to store and portion out as required.
