Ethical beverage brand One Drinks has launched a range of ‘adventurous’ botanical drinks made with spring water.
The organic Origins line-up draws on botanicals including hibiscus, moringa and rooibos – as well as the unique health properties that they bring with them. Flavours include hibiscus, raspberry and mint; moringa, lemon and lime; and rooibos, grapefruit and ginger. All come packaged in 330ml bottles.
One Drinks said that the range would tap into demand for healthy hydration. It cited figures showing that 62% of consumers are now concerned about their sugar intake in food and soft drinks, and 53% are actively taking steps to limit or reduce the amount of sugar in their diet.
One Drinks founder Duncan Goose said: “With consumers increasingly looking for ‘guilt-free’ drinks alternatives we wanted to develop something that was innovative and unlike anything else available on the market.
Through Origins, I think we have achieved something unique. The signature flavours of hibiscus, moringa and rooibois set these drinks apart from the competition. With less than 1g of sugar per bottle, our customers can choose a great-tasting drink which is not only good for them but makes a difference and funds life-changing water projects in some of the world’s poorest communities.”
All three botanicals are sourced from regions where The One Foundation has funded water projects, as part of its mission to increase access to clean water worldwide. Since 2005, the brand has raised over £15 million and reached more than three million people through its clean water projects.
In March, the brand began trialling an alternative bottle sleeve that raises awareness of the poor water conditions experienced by people in developing countries. The sleeve used a brown-coloured gradient to make the spring water inside the bottle look dirty, with more than 650 million people around the world estimated to be living without clean water.
The latest range of drinks complements the three juiced waters, without added sugars, that One Drinks launched last summer.
And it comes just a month after the company made a foray into the alcohol category for the first time with the launch of a new batch of hand-distilled gin.
One Gin is distilled at Blackdown Distillery in Sussex using nine botanicals from around the world, as well as one quintessentially British ingredient – sage, which is foraged from the grounds of the distillery.
It is described as ‘a unique British gin with savoury notes of black tea’.
