Organic dairy brand Rachel’s has announced the launch of a new organic coconut Divine Rice pudding to build on the success of the brand’s existing traditional Divine Rice range and tap into the growing trend for coconut flavours.
The contemporary twist on the classic dessert will launch this month in Tesco, Waitrose and convenience store Nisa.
Organic coconut milk gives the rice pudding a perfectly balanced, indulgent and intense flavour with a natural sweet creaminess, Rachel’s said. The brand said that it was the ideal treat for the summer months as a quick and easy snack or after-dinner dessert.
It hopes that the new product will help to build on the momentum in its Divine Rice brand, which has grown 20% year on year despite category-wide decline.
Daniel Wheeler, marketing manager for Nestlé Lactalis chilled dairy, said: “In light of the increase in popularity of coconut products, and particularly, the surge in sales of our Greek-style coconut yogurt, here at Rachel’s we were keen to capitalise on this trend into our other product ranges. The chilled dessert category is a competitive market, requiring constant innovation and therefore it seemed only natural that we used this winning and incredible indulgent flavour to bolster our current Divine Rice offering. We look forward to hearing feedback from our consumers.”
It will be available to buy in packs of two 150g tubs with a recommended retail price of £1.39.
