Pladis has added a new Strawberry Cheesecake flavour to its range of ‘swavoury’ (sweet and savoury) pretzel snacks in the UK.
The ‘swavoury’ flavour features pretzels enrobed in a sweet Strawberry Cheesecake glaze – providing consumers with a bite-sized twist on a classic dessert.
According to Pladis, the new Flipz Strawberry Cheesecake flavour seeks to further the growth of its Flipz brand, which was launched in the UK in 2018. The brand released a Salted Caramel variant last year, and a White Fudge variant is also available.
Jonathan Bull, head of McVitie’s commercial & seasonal brands at Pladis UK&I, said: “Since introducing Flipz to UK consumers back in 2018, our shopper base has remained incredibly loyal – with a strong repeat purchase rate of over 30%. We can attribute the brand’s success to the uniqueness of its ‘swavoury’ flavour.
“In addition to the brand’s established shopper base, we want to help retailers drive incremental sales by encouraging new shoppers – especially younger consumers – to buy into Flipz. This is why we’re particularly passionate about innovation across the range and adding exciting flavour combinations to our core line-up.”
90g sharing packs of Flipz Strawberry Cheesecake will be available nationwide from selected UK retailers from the beginning of June, with a suggested retail price of £1.50.
