Tilda, the rice brand, has launched a new range of ready-to-heat pulses with rice in single-serve pouches.
Available from June, each of the five variants combines healthy on-trend pulses with basmati rice and other wholesome ingredients, inspired by their country of origin and designed to capitalise on growth within the pulses market.
Combining plant-based protein, slow-release carbohydrates and vegetables, Tilda Pulses & Rice are a source of both protein and fibre – and count towards one of the five recommended daily portions of fruit and vegetables for a nutritionally complete meal.
Free from gluten, the pouches are available in five individual varieties, each with basmati rice:
Tilda head of innovation Camilla Sheeley said: “Consumers are looking for convenient and delicious plant-based proteins as alternatives to achieving a nutritionally balanced diet. Our Tilda Pulses & Rice range combines protein-rich pulses with healthy Basmati rice and vibrant ingredients known for their nutritious characteristics, creating on-trend, nutritionally complete meals in a minute.
“Variants are inspired by popular cuisines that traditionally use pulses and rice and each variant provides one of your five-a-day. The whole range is perfect eaten hot or cold.”
Already partly steamed for maximum convenience, the new Pulses & Rice pouches only need one minute in the microwave or can be enjoyed cold straight from the pouch. Their launch will be supported by ATL, PR and social activity, and the Pulses and Rice 140g pouches will retail with a recommended retail price of £1.39.
