Denmark-based packaging manufacturer RPC Superfos has created a new pot with oxygen barrier protection for Swedish berry producer Finnerödja.
Finnerödja has opted for the SuperLock container for its new Simply Berries product, which combines a variety of different berries with stewed apples. The new purées are available in sea buckthorn and mango, blueberry, and raspberry varieties.
The injection moulded polypropylene packaging boasts low oxygen transmission rates, which gives products a shelf life under ambient temperatures of up to two years. This makes them a more convenient choice for both fillers and consumers, RPC claimed.
Finnerödja market and sales representative Frida Engström said: “To us, the SuperLock pot with oxygen barrier protection appeared to be the obvious choice. We had a unique, new product to sell, so the packaging solution had to match this profile.
“The click-on screw lid pleases our customers; the easy opening and reclosure is ideal for people who quickly want to boost a yogurt, make some porridge tastier or twist a smoothie with healthy berry purée.
“We have had a tremendous start with our new purée in SuperLock. We launched it through various social media, including Instagram. The results are stunning.”
