The programme has been strongly supported by UK skills minister Matthew Hancock.
The last intake to the scheme in August 2012 scheme saw a record 3,500 people apply for 150 positions. Another 150 new placements are available from today, 15 August, for applicants with a minimum of two A-levels.
More than 500 managers have successfully graduated through the scheme since it started in 2011.
“As students receive their A-level results, it’s a great time to highlight the different opportunities available to them,” said Hancock. “I am delighted that Sainsbury’s is supporting even more young people to gain the skills and experience that are vital in building a successful and rewarding career.”
