Last year, Starbucks purchased Green-e certified renewable energy credits equal to more than 421 million kilowatt-hours of green energy – enough electricity to power more than 50% of our company-owned stores in the US, or over 33,000 US homes for a year, according to the company.
100% of that energy came from wind power. A Starbucks statement said: We’re honoured by this recognition, but while our commitment to supporting green energy is unwavering, our primary goal is to reduce the energy and water used to operate our stores.
