His influence can be felt in many circles, not just by Apple aficionados and technology users, but by entrepreneurs, leaders and creatives.
I can only speak accurately about his influence on my life, which was immense. For the past 15 years or so, he has made it easier to do my job, and more enjoyable. He instilled in me, through osmosis and fantastic, often subliminal marketing, a love of technology as art and joy.
I’m writing this blog using one of his products. I report from events around the world using his products. I will soon buy a new product shaped by his great vision and creative genius in order to be able to do my job even better.
He said during a speech at Stanford University that our time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.
We’ll miss you, but your spirit and influence will live on.
