Herbal tea producer Fito has secured a new listing with British health food chain Holland & Barrett for its Natur Boutique brand of teas, adding to the portfolio of four stockists that it already boasts.
The teas are also sold through Whole Foods Market, Planet Organic, Real Foods and organic retailer As Nature Intended. Holland & Barrett will now join this list by selling the company’s three leading teas – organic artichoke, green tea with lemongrass, and green tea diet blend varieties – to add to Fito’s base of independent health food stores.
The company is a European-Vietnamese partnership whereby all the ingredients for the organic teas are grown on small farms in Vietnam.
The new listing follows a successful marketing campaign that focussed on the teas as both functional and great-tasting beverages, and Natur Boutique’s artichoke tea has become Europe’s leading tea of its kind amid strong trading figures across its portfolio.
The brand is seeking new supermarket listings and claimed in a statement that its success was a sign that there was “still room for small producers to make their mark” in the UK’s £100m herbal and green tea market.
Fito’s Anton Le Khak said: “With the bigger brands now producing green tea and some of the more common fruit and herbal infusions, we hope we can help bring some flavours and blends that are popular in other parts of the world, but not yet well known in the UK, onto the supermarket shelves and prove to retailers that the herbal tea market is still very dynamic and has room for further growth.”
