The purchase provides Synergy with access to unique and innovative technologies for natural essence manufacture. This expansion also strengthens Synergy’s capabilities in several key markets, including the rapidly growing tea and coffee sectors, the company said.
Roderick Sowders, president and CEO of Synergy, said: “This acquisition offers significant benefits to our customers by providing direct access to natural essences and extracts that greatly enhance our capability to serve the growing demand for natural flavourings.
“In addition to innovative technologies, I believe Sensus’ access to the food service sector will open new commercial possibilities for Synergy’s flavour portfolio. Sensus’ customers will also benefit from the additional flavour expertise and global reach of the Synergy organisation.”
The acquisition of Sensus follows Synergy’s acquisition of Vanlab. Sensus also works closely with growers to manage the quality of its horticultural raw materials, in order to deliver the highest quality essences and extracts, while optimising the health benefit attributes of each product. Synergy is already popular as a supplier of innovative flavours for beverage, bakery, confectionary, dairy, and nutritional products. Business operations for Sensus will remain in Ohio (US).
