Tea brand Taylors of Harrogate has added a new sour cherry flavour to its range of blended fruit and herbal teas, developed in conjunction with botanic experts at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew.
The new infusion, caffeine-free, has been created using fine fruit and herbs that are bursting with taste and goodness, Taylors said. The dark, fruity flavour of the cherries has been deepened with a blend of fine-cut hibiscus flowers, dandelion root, star anise and rosehip to make a gloriously different sweet-sour infusion.
The blend will be available to buy from supermarket chains Ocado, Booths and Waitrose from this month, and at Sainsbury’s and Morrisons from August. Each pack has a recommended retail price of £2.99.
It will join the existing range of peppermint, lemongrass and ginger, rose lemonade, spiced apple and sweet rhubarb flavours – all developed in conjunction with the botanic experts at Kew.
Uzma Arif, brand manager for Taylors of Harrogate, said: “We started this process back in 2014 with one goal: to make the purest, best-tasting infusions available to buy, and what better partner to help us achieve this than the world-leading plant experts at Kew.
“Our innovative and refreshing range of fruit and herbal infusions has been a real hit with consumers and we’re delighted to announce the arrival of our sour cherry infusion, as we look to evolve the range and bring new and exciting flavours to the market.”
