The Bay Tree has introduced two new foodservice lines ahead of the spring, as the British company continues in its bid to deliver full-flavoured products to the hospitality sector.
The condiments and preserves maker is adding sweet garlic pickle, its take on a traditional Indian accompaniment. The distinctive flavours of garlic and cumin combine to create a sweet, punchy preserve that offers the perfect pairing for a curry or seasonal marinade for slow-roasted lamb with rosemary, The Bay Tree said. It is packaged in 1.2kg tubs with a cost of £4.68 each.
It has also unveiled red chilli jam, featuring red chilli and red pepper for a “fiery combination of sweet and sticky”. Described as an extremely versatile condiment, it can be used to create a starter dip, mixed into gravy to accompany pork or chicken, or paired with salmon, cold meats and soft cheeses as an ideal accompaniment, Somerset-based The Bay Tree said. It is available in 1.3kg tubs for £5.38.
The Bay Tree founder Emma Macdonald said: “As the foodservice sector experiences growth, it becomes increasingly important for us to introduce innovative products to our catering collection. The selection process is a really vigorous one – we have more than 200 lines to choose from. Red chilli jam and sweet garlic pickle are both popular retail products – their versatility translates to the professional kitchen. With our catering-sized [tubs] it’s about providing time-saving solutions that don’t compromise on taste.”
