Oregon dairy cooperative Tillamook has completely revamped its range of shredded cheese products, which combine the creamery’s premium quality with convenience for the consumer.
The new offerings will replace Tillamook’s fine cut shredded cheese line and are made using the highest-quality milk with no artificial colours or flavours.
Tillamook has also debuted a new flavour of shredded cheese in response to increased consumer demand for white cheddars. The sharp white farm-style cheese offers a convenient alternative to Tillamook’s naturally aged block cheddar cheeses.
The new ranges are accompanied by redesigned packaging, which introduced a matte finish and clean design to packs of the shredded cheese. The packs, Tillamook said, are intended to reflect the simple and honest ingredients that consumers call for. The cooperative hopes that, in a category largely devoid of premium options, the bold simplicity of its new packaging and premium quality of the cheese will help to reshape the way consumers perceive shredded cheese.
Last month, the dairy company launched six new whole-milk yogurts and updated its Good & Creamy low-fat yogurt.
Tillamook cheese category manager Sibel Candemir said: “We’ve found that families want to make everyday meals taste better and be proud of the food that they cook. As a farmer-owned co-op, we believe that consumers shouldn’t have to compromise convenience for quality, which is how many shoppers feel in the existing shredded cheese aisle. Our goal is to provide a product that is both premium and convenient, and these shreds are just that – grated straight from the blocks of Tillamook cheese that families already love.
“Not only will consumers notice the visually bigger size of the shreds, but they’ll taste the difference as well. With more cheese in each bite, our new farm-style cut makes every dish more melty and cheesy than ever before, whether you’re making casseroles, mac and cheese or quesadillas.”
The packs of shredded cheese are available in ten varieties, including cheddar jack, colby jack, mozzarella and triple cheddar.
There’s also a sharp yellow cheddar and medium yellow cheddar, Mexican two-cheese and Mexican four-cheese, plus an Italian blend.
All varieties are available in 8oz pouches with a recommended price of $3.99, and select varieties are available in 16oz packs at a suggested $5.99 and 32oz packs for $11.99.
