With a decisive 52% of the vote, the chocolate brownie was well ahead of the field, with second place going to traditional chocolate sponge cake, securing 20% of the votes.
The survey, carried out online by sweet bakery manufacturer Dawn Foods, gives retailers valuable product insight in the run-up to ‘chocolate week’ (8-14 October).
