Unilever tea brand PG Tips has launched two new teas: a decaf variant and another designed to be blended with dairy alternatives.
The Tasty Decaf product is said to have a natural flavour inspired by PG Tips tea gardens in Kericho, Kenya. It has less than 0.2% caffeine and “a rich, fresh and rounded taste”.
Meanwhile, Perfect with Dairy-Free is designed to complement soya or almond drinks and is targeted at vegan consumers.
In a statement, PG Tips said: “When the PG tips team spoke to tea drinkers and heard that they weren’t able to get their hands on a great-tasting decaf cuppa, nor a tasty cuppa if they drink dairy alternatives, the PG tips master tea blender, Joyce, got hard to work. She tasted teas from over 20 origins in hundreds of different combinations. The result: two new truly tasty teas.”
Both variants are set to hit UK shelves from 5 March 2018 with a recommended retail price of £2.60 for a pack of 70 tea bags.
In 2016, PG boosted its tea offering with the release of a range of speciality teas and fruit and herbal infusions for foodservice operators.
