US food group Riviana Foods has launched two new globally inspired variants to its Minute Rice product range.
New Thai jasmine rice is an aromatic long grain white rice from the plateaus of Thailand, the Texas-based company said, with “a sweet – yet subtle – buttery flavour and fragrant aroma”. The Hom Mali variety matches perfectly with both Asian and traditional dishes.
Minute Basmati rice, meanwhile, is an aromatic long grain rice grown in the foothills of the Himalayas, known for “its fragrance and distinctive, delicate and nutty flavour”. The grains of rice are long and slender when cooked and stay separate and fluffy once prepared, providing the perfect accompaniment to Asian, Middle Eastern and traditional dishes.
The innovations extend the company’s Minute range of rice, which is specifically designed to offer consumers ease and convenience. It is packaged in pre-portioned bags for even greater convenience and can be cooked in ten minutes.
Riviana Foods senior vice president of marketing Paul Galvani said: “We’ve listened to our customers and are thrilled to be able to offer them these two new products, which combine the same great quality and convenience that they’ve come to expect from Minute Rice with the distinct flavours and textures from the aromatic varieties. Jasmine and Basmati rice are two of the most popular globally inspired types of rice, and we hope that by offering them, our customers will be able to create even more versatile and unique recipes to share with their families, or plus up their families’ favourite dishes.”
