‘Clean’ energy drink brand, Virtue Drinks, has raised £1.1m in a funding round to support its expansion in the UK and internationally.
Virtue Drinks offers energy drinks which it says contain zero sugar, zero calories and no artificial ingredients. Last year, the company unveiled its Clean Energy range, which features natural caffeine from green coffee beans.
The brand says that it will use the new funds to grow its team and support distribution expansion. In addition, the capital will help Virtue Drinks to fund marketing activities to increase brand awareness.
Available in 30 countries globally, Virtue Drinks says that it has seen 120% growth in sales year-on-year.
The company’s roster of investors to date includes footballer Chris Smalling, as well as a number of angel investors.
Rahi Daneshmand, founder of Virtue Drinks, said: “With further capital to scale growth, we are really excited to see Virtue Drinks grow from strength to strength. This investment will allow us to bring clean energy to even more consumers across the UK.”
