Food group Pork Farms will develop its Wall’s range of pastries with the introduction of a new line of hot pies with two different fillings.
The 150g pies are available in both chicken and mushroom, and steak, varieties with a recommended retail price of £1.49 each. They will launch into stores next week as the brand seeks to extend the breadth of eating occasions for its savoury products.
“The move into the hot pie sector was a natural step for Wall’s and the initial launch of two varieties is just the start of new product development in this market,” Pork Farms revealed.
Pork Farms head of markets Kim Burgess added: “Customer feedback is key to driving our ranges forward. Those consumers who are already fans of our chilled product range have told us that they also want the option of larger, more substantial hot pies to sit alongside our range of slices that can be consumed more as a main meal with potatoes, vegetables or salad accompaniments.
“Capturing the same quality of taste that the ‘on the go’ slices offer, our new hot pies continue to fulfil consumer demand.”
