Dried fruit, nut and seed supplier Whitworths has announced the launch of new trail mixes featuring real dried and chopped fruit pieces, and no added sugar.
The Sunny Fruit Mix-ups are the latest addition to the company’s Sunny Raisin offering, available in the UK through supermarket Tesco from 25 July with a recommended retail price of £1.99 per pack.
The new trail mixes are available in three varieties: strawberries and sultanas, apricots and mango, and pineapple and raisins. Each pack is made with 100% fruit with no added sugar, artificial flavourings, colours or preservatives.
With the three new flavours come six new characters, designed to encourage children to get excited about healthy lunchbox snacking.
The products were introduced following consumer research with parents and taste testing with children, which found the factors – including taste and packaging – that were most important to them when purchasing snack products.
Matthew Wakelin from Whitworths said: “Sunny Fruit Mix-ups are the latest addition to our kids portfolio. We developed them with real feedback from real parents and kids, so are certain these will go down a treat in lunchboxes and family cupboards.
“Parents are always on the lookout for new, inspiring snacks that offer a healthy alternative accompanied by great taste. Our goal at Whitworths is to continue developing natural snacks that leave customers feeling reassured that they’re fuelling their and their family’s bodies with the best ingredients”.
