Sprite has added a new cherry flavour to its beverage portfolio, along with a zero-calorie version.
Sprite cherry will reach shelves across the US today in a convenient 20oz on-the-go bottle. The brand has also introduced Sprite cherry zero to give fans a sugar-free and calorie-free option.
Both new option combine the refreshing taste of Sprite with a splash of cherry flavour. They are clear and caffeine-free beverages made with 100% natural flavours, according to brand owner Coca-Cola.
“We’re always looking for new ways to give people more choice and variety, whether it’s launching a limited-time product or a seasonal flavour, and this time, we’re excited to bring two new flavour innovations to the Sprite portfolio,” said Bobby Oliver, director of Sprite and citrus brands for Coca-Cola North America.
“The launch of Sprite cherry and Sprite cherry zero is a great way to show our fans that we’re continuing to innovate and offering them more of the great Sprite taste they love with a twist of something new.”
The new zero-sugar product, in particular, is notable in that joins a roster of nearly 250 other zero-sugar beverages offered in the US market.
The new permanent additions to the Sprite portfolio follow previous limited-edition flavour innovations from Sprite, including cranberry, tropical mix and LeBron’s mix, which was developed in partnership with professional basketball player LeBron James.
