Mars Chocolate has launched a new toffee and popcorn-flavoured variant of its Galaxy Duet range of chocolate bars.
Galaxy Duet features two bars of chocolate side by side with different fillings. The new product features one bar filled with a smooth toffee sauce, and another that combines crunchy, salted toffee with popcorn pieces.
Mars has begun a four-week £600,000 marketing campaign in support of the innovation, which has a recommended retail price of £0.60 per pack, with a number of different point-of-sale (POS) options available to participating retailers.
Mars Chocolate UK trade communications manager Bep Dhaliwal said: “We’re thrilled to be building on the success of Galaxy Duet cookies and cream and caramel and shortcake variants with the introduction of Galaxy Duet toffee and popcorn.
“Both of our original Galaxy Duet singles have performed well and we’re confident this new combination of indulgent toffee and popcorn pieces will prove equally irresistible to consumers.
“With dedicated investment in TV and media helping to ensure the new product is front of mind for consumers, we encourage retailers to ensure the product is placed in a prominent location in store and use the POS materials available to create visible and eye-catching displays.”
