Mars Chocolate North America has announced the addition of several new flavours to some of its best-known chocolate brands – including Snickers, Milky Way and Twix.
The company has released new Snickers hazelnut, Twix white chocolate cookie bars, and two new variants of its Dove brand: Dove sorbet bars, and Dove peanut butter and dark chocolate Promises. It will also unveil a host of seasonal offerings for these and other brands, include red, white and blue M&M’s for patriotic holidays such as Memorial Day and Independence Day; new Snickers and Dove formats for Halloween; and further innovations for Christmas and Valentine’s Day 2017.
“Consumers are always excited to try new flavours combined with their favorite chocolate brands,” said Timothy LeBel, vice-president of sales for Mars Chocolate North America. “Through extensive consumer research, we’ve created line extensions that will resonate with shoppers. For example, confections containing hazelnuts have increased 14% in sales, so consumers will want to try our limited edition Snickers hazelnut. We also believe our new Twix white chocolate cookie bars will be a hit, since the white chocolate segment is growing.”
Additionally, Wrigley, another subsidiary of Mars Incorporated, will be unveiling new products that give consumers more choices from brands including Orbit White, Starburst Gummies in original and sour flavours, Skittles America Mix and more.
The changes will be presented at NCA Expo, where Mars Chocolate and Wrigley will share shopper insights, displays, and consumer promotions with retailers.
“To help our retail partners drive sales, we create promotions that encourage consumers to spend time with friends and family celebrating key moments,” added LeBel. “This includes holidays, sporting events and movies. For example, M&M’s, Snickers and Skittles brands sponsor the No. 18 Toyota Camry, piloted by Kyle Busch, who was the 2015 Nascar Sprint Cup Champion.”
