The cupcake will go on sale 7 June and will be available until 28 July at all five London bakeries in the UK.
The concept for the American Brunch Cupcake was created by Susie Kelly, the winner of a competition run by The Hummingbird Bakery in partnership with Emerald Street to help promote the launch of The Hummingbird Bakery’s latest cookbook, Home Sweet Home.
Tarek Malouf, founder of The Hummingbird Bakery, said: “First time I tried the American Brunch Cupcake, I was amazed. It was like tucking into a stack of American pancakes. You wouldn’t normally expect to find bacon in a sweet cupcake, but it’s surprisingly delicious. We can’t wait to hear what our customers think.”
The American Brunch cupcake will be priced at £3.25 to take away and £3.95 to eat in.
