Ella’s Kitchen will mark its expansion into the children’s snacking category with the launch of two new product lines, designed to appeal to youngsters between the ages of three and five.
In a category dominated by fruit and sweeter tastes, the brand said, these innovative new products contained a lower sugar profile than existing offerings. The Smooshy Snacks range of smoothie pouches introduces children to vegetable flavours for the first time and accounts for one of their five recommended daily portions of fruit and vegetables.
Among the four flavour combinations available are mango and pumpkin, orange and carrot, strawberry and beetroot, and apple and cucumber.
Ella’s Kitchen is also launching three new Fruity Bars as a revamp of other fruit bars currently on the market. They include tasty additions such as crisped rice, oats, flaxseeds and coconut – all of which help to reduce the snack’s sugar content – and are available in banana and raisin, pineapple and coconut, and raspberry and mango varieties.
They will retail for £2.50 for a five-count box of 20g bars, while four 100g Smooshy Snacks pouches will be priced at £3.49 when they launch at the end of this month.
Mark Cuddigan, head of Ella’s Europe, said: “We’re so excited to be launching the new kids’ snacks range. Hero-ing the importance of introducing veggie tastes from a young age, we can’t wait for our big taste testers to engage with all the fun and interactive elements that the products provide. Between the comic strip packaging, superhero characters, special masks and finger puppets, our new Smooshy Snacks and Fruity Bars aren’t just incredibly tasty, they’re super fun, too!”
