New meat snacks brand Ember has launched a two-strong biltong range as it aims to meet a gap in the market for high protein snacks.
Consisting of 100% grass-fed British and Irish beef, the range has zero sugar and is available in the UK in two variants: original and chilli.
Brothers Harry and Jack Ember created the brand after struggling to find a healthy, protein-rich snack to fuel their own Ironman Triathlon training. They wanted to create a product that would meet the needs of consumers looking for a post-workout protein hit as well as those looking for a way to see off an afternoon energy slump.
Co-founder Harry Ember said: “After struggling to find a genuinely tasty, satisfying but healthy snack for so long ourselves, we are excited to be bringing our brand new range of biltong to the market this month.
“With sales of jerky and biltong booming, the category is primed for a lifestyle brand that offers a premium quality product. With the launch of Ember, our plan is to open up meat snacks to the guilt-free snacking consumer and we can’t wait to feed the fire of the nation in the months ahead.”
The two flavours are available online in individual bags and multipacks. Each 30g bag retails at £2.49. The brand has supermarket listings rolling out from January 2018.
