Mars Chocolate Drinks and Treats has launched two new products under the Galaxy brand – Ultimate marshmallow hot chocolate, including real marshmallows; and Ultimate white hot chocolate with white chocolate pieces.
Both come in 300g jars with eye catching pearlescent packaging to create increased on-shelf standout.
Their launch follows annual growth of 3.7% within the instant hot chocolate category, generating yearly sales of more than £32m. The Galaxy brand has shown growth of 9% – worth £4.5m – and is committed “to injecting new and innovative products to the category,” Mars Chocolate Drinks and Treats said.
The company’s general manager, Michelle Frost, said: “Innovation and variety are proven factors in maximising hot chocolate sales and driving growth across the category. With great on-shelf differentiation, and eye-catching packaging, we believe that these new products will help drive category sales further.”
