Great British Biscotti has extended its range of biscuits, a month after unveiling its upmarket accompaniment to hot beverages.
The company will market its new honey, lemon and ginger biscotti exclusively at tea drinkers, and says that its range of premium biscuits are designed to be dunked.
The artisan snack, it added, ‘meets the growing appetite for simple, less processed treats’.
Addressing the idea that biscotti is the preserve of coffee drinkers, and that great biscotti can’t be produced outside Italy, Great British Biscotti’s Paul Rostand said: “Here at the Great British Biscotti Company we’ve got very used to biscuit prejudice. First there was the claim that the best biscotti come from Italy – it was after all the marching legionnaire’s biscuit of choice – which might have been true a few thousand years ago, however their thoughtful invasion of our shores long ago means that the UK is now also a powerhouse when it comes to fine biscuit knowhow.”
The new biscotti are available in a cardboard pack as well as a 36g two-pack.
It launched a chunky chocolate version of its biscotti in February.
