Inspired by the heritage, culture and sound of Mambo music and dance, the new label is brightly coloured and features graduated layers of hues.
The Hey Mambo Sultry Red label goes from deep red to dark rose, while Hey Mambo Swanky White starts with a swath of amber and slowly evolves into a bright yellow. The label on Hey Mambo Dry Rose has a lavender top band that flows into a soft pink tone at the bottom.
“It represents both the sound and movement of Mambo, which derives from Cuban dance and African rhythm,” said August Sebastiani, president of The Other Guys. “The design team liked the fringed dresses that Latin dancers wear, which create a layering effect on the wearer. They translated this into the label redesign. When you think about it, a blended wine is really layers of different grape varieties that meld for optimum quality. So we feel the look is an accurate, artistic expression of the wine inside.”
