US plant-based superfood producer Laird Superfood has added to its portfolio with Hot Chocolate with Functional Mushrooms.
Laird Superfood’s new product combines organic cacao powder, organic cinnamon powder and coconut milk powder with three functional mushrooms: reishi, chaga and maitake.
According to the company, the adaptogenic mushrooms do not affect the taste of the hot chocolate and it remains ‘velvety’ and ‘rich’, while harnessing the mushrooms’ benefits to support various aspects of well-being.
The method is simple and requires mixing 3 ½ tablespoons of the powder with 8 ounces of water, to create a hot chocolate that the whole family will love, said Laird Superfood.
Paul Hodge, CEO, and co-founder of Laird Superfood said: “When we develop products, we obsess on four things: it has to be good for you; it has to taste good; it has to be eco-friendly, and it has to be inclusive for everyone. Our new hot chocolate with functional mushrooms checks all of the boxes.”
Earlier this year Laird Superfood expanded its Superfood Creamer line with a creamer that uses four functional mushrooms that will help boost a consumer’s day.
Laird Superfood’s Hot Chocolate with Functional Mushrooms is available now online and in stores for an RRP of $10.95 per 8oz bag.
