Nut brand Meridian Foods has extended its range of snack bars with the launch of three new variants.
The peanut and banana, peanut and berry and peanut and cocoa bars are made using the British brand’s peanut butter and will be sold in Holland & Barrett and independent health food stores nationwide from this month, with a recommended retail price of £1.19. The range was originally launched in spring 2014 with peanut and almond variants, with a cashew bar added earlier this year.
Developed using a simple recipe featuring a high content of roasted nuts and only natural sweeteners, the 40g bars provide at least 7g of protein per bar. Meridian uses its own roasted nuts and does not add processed protein that can be found in most protein and recovery bars. Each bar has significantly more natural protein than mainstream cereal and nut bars, the company said.
Darren Robinson, Group Sales Manager at Meridian Foods comments: “We were the first peanut butter brand to move into the healthy snack bar sector and have been encouraged with the response.
“It has given us the confidence to continue leading the pack and this new launch reinforces our commitment to the sector.”
