Cadbury Dairy Milk Mousse Snowman Vanilla was the number one self-eat in 2013, worth £3.4m, and is back this year along with a new variant, Cadbury Dairy Milk Mousse Snowman Chocolate.
Also back for 2014 is Cadbury Dairy Milk Winter Wonderland, which was the second biggest of all Christmas new product launche in 2013, worth £3.5m, and achieved the highest penetration of all Christmas NPD launches. Cadbury Dairy Milk Freddo Popping Candy, last year’s number four self-eat, also returns.
Cadbury Dairy Milk Advent Calendars are the UK’s No 1 advent calendars. This year, Mondele?z is offering a 90g advent calendar and a 170g advent calendar.
This year, the Hollow Santa and Snowman novelties have been relaunched under the Cadbury Dairy Milk brand.
Also getting a new addition this year will be the Cadbury stocking selection box, which now includes Cadbury Dairy Milk Marvellous Creations Jelly Popping Candy (the biggest FMCG launch of 2013), and the Cadbury Dairy Milk Marvellous Creations range, now worth £49.7m and generating 49% incremental sales in the category.
For the first time, Cadbury Bitsa Wispa will be joining in tube format, and Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons and Cadbury Dairy Milk Freddo Face are also available again in tubes.
Cadbury Heroes was the fastest growing tub in the market at Christmas 2013, and in 2014 there will be a new design across tubs and cartons, with Toblerone back in tubs for the season. In cartons, a new Hero will join the team, Mini Wispa, bringing a £69m brand and the ‘most wanted in Heroes’ to the line-up.
The Trio Tub format from Mondele?z took the top two Christmas NPD for candy sharing in 2013, and this year the Bassetts Trio Tub and Maynards Trio Tub are back with new designs. The Bassetts Liquorice Allsorts tub will also be joining the candy range.
Featuring bite-size wedges of Terry’s Chocolate Orange, Terry’s Chocolate Orange Minis sharing bag was the number one NPD in total Christmas in 2013, and in 2014 there will be a new bag: Terry’s Chocolate Orange Exploding Candy Minis.
In candy, Maynards Christmas Jellies will be available in collectable characters, featuring Santa, Rudolph and a penguin filled with novelty Christmas Jellies.
Cadbury Milk Tray, worth £33m and growing, benefited from a modern and fresh design in 2013, and is available in different formats for token, special or thoughtful gifts. Meanwhile, Terry’s All Gold is an option for older, more affluent shoppers, and there’s a new design for 2014.
