Mondelēz’s Oreo brand has released three new limited-edition flavours as part of a consumer campaign which urged consumers to suggest possible new flavours.
Consumers submitted various flavours to Oreo over the past few months, and the brand selected Cherry Cola, Piña Colada and Kettle Corn flavoured Oreo products as its three finalists for the competition.
Judging criteria for the competition included taste, creativity and originality, and Oreo conducted taste-tests before selecting the three finalist submissions.
US consumers will be able to buy these three new flavours from retailers nationwide for a limited time, and voting for the eventual winner closes on 30 June 2018.
It is unclear whether the eventual winning flavour of the competition will be offered as a permanent addition to the brand’s product range.
Pam Clarkson, associate director North American Oreo Equity said: “We were blown away by not only the volume of flavour ideas we received as part of our #MyOreoCreation Contest, but also by the creativity and imagination of our fans.
“The response to the contest underscored fan passion around Oreo flavour innovation and we’re thrilled with our three newest, limited-edition Oreo cookie flavours – we can’t wait for people to try them and let us know which they think should be the winning flavour!”
