Nestlé’s Smarties brand will release limited-edition Halloween-themed Scaries in the UK, which is a “spooky” version of its signature chocolate snack.
The snacks will be coloured orange and brown to keep with the autumnal theme, and the packaging will feature a ghost and a new brand logo to emphasise the Halloween theme.
Sharing bags of the Scaries snack will be available nationwide from UK retailer Asda from 6 September, and from Tesco from 3 October.
The release of the themed limited-edition snacks follows the success of the brand’s Unicorn Smarties in June, and the reintroduction of Orange Smarties earlier this year.
Stephanie Scales, brand manager for Smarties at Nestlé UK, said: “With Halloween sitting firmly at the top of the social calendar we are really excited to launch Scaries to get Smarties lovers in the spooky spirit and help add some hocus pocus to their parties!
“This is the first time we are offering Halloween themed Smarties and we are sure our fans will love this new ghostly version of their favourite sweets.
“So don’t delay and make sure you get your hands on them early to avoid disappointment as these Halloween treats are expected to sell out fast.”
