Air-dried fruit and vegetable crisp manufacturer Nim’s has created a new crisp variety made from naturally crimson-coloured apples.
called RedLove, the 20g packs cost £1 and have gone on sale for a limited time in more than 1,400 Tesco stores across the UK ahead of Valentine’s Day.
Nim’s said the crisps can be used to decorate romantic cocktails, top desserts or to enjoy as an aperitif to dinner.
“It’s the same great taste as our best-selling variety, just red-fleshed to give that crimson appearance,” said Nimisha Raja, founder of Nim’s. “The limited-edition ranges are proving extremely successful for our business and this Valentine special comes just a few weeks after we sold thousands of packets of our festive crisps.”
The RedLove crisps are now on sale in Tesco and cost £1 per 20g pack.
She added: “Our RedLove apple range will pave the way for future launches in 2020, with Halloween set to be another big opportunity for us to bring a completely new flavour out.”
Raja founded Nim’s after becoming increasingly disenchanted by the lack of healthy snacks on offer for parents and toddlers. She sold her coffee shop and house and ploughed money into launching the air-dried fruit crisp brand.
Last year, Nim’s released three festive air-dried crisp flavours: Beet & Butt, a combination of beetroot and butternut squash; Bubble & Squeak, made with parsnip, beetroot and Brussels sprout crisps; and Brussels, featuring Brussels sprouts.
