Kendlbacher from Leoben, Austria, has created Omi’s Apfelstrudel, a shelf-stable apple juice drink with cinnamon flavour to emulate ‘Apple strudel in a bottle’.
The product was launched at the start of 2014 in Austria and Germany and has already reached 4,000 outlets there. The company has recently created subsidiaries in The Netherlands, the US and the UK.
The principal behind the product is to recreate the apple strudel (apfelstrudel) taste experience as a high quality beverage. The creation has a unique flavour and aroma enjoyed on its own at ambient temperature, chilled or warmed (as a seasonal drink) or mixed with mineral water. The drink also makes an ideal mixer for use with Prosecco, vodka, gin, whisky or can be used in cocktails.
Available in 250ml glass bottles with a screw top, it’s shipped in cases of 24 bottles and 80 cases on a pallet. The green bottle contrasts well with the yellow labelling, which features Omi on the front of the bottle, with ingredients and nutritional information on the side/rear (which may vary depending on the country and region where the product is sold).
