ITS secures second facility, expands flavour capacity

Natural flavour company International Taste Solutions (ITS) has acquired a second facility, located close to its existing premises in Newbury, Berkshire, UK. Once complete, the new facility, which already includes a flavour laboratory, will also feature an innovation centre and customer product development area. Additionally, the site will include flavour sample bays and dedicated application spaces for bakery, dairy, beverage and confectionery innovations. ITS’ microbrewery and bar, which is currently housed in its existing building, will move to the new facility. The current site will be converted into a solely manufacturing and technical space, set to increase production capacity, enabling the company to increase its flavour manufacturing capabilities. ITS’ founder Mike Bagshaw said: “In recent years we have seen an explosion in popular culture, use of the internet and social media which, in turn, have fuelled fast changing food trends. As a proudly independent flavour house, we can keep on top of the latest trends and respond quickly to them, giving customers access to flavours which they may not be able to source easily from larger flavour suppliers.” He continued: “The time has come to invest in the next stage of ITS' growth and to expand to bigger and better facilities that will enable us not only to develop some fantastic new flavours but also give us the space to work directly with customers on product development and manufacturing.” ITS expects the new premises to be complete by the end of the year.
