Optimum Nutrition debuts Gold Standard whey protein drink

Glanbia-owned Optimum Nutrition has launched a new grab-and-go protein beverage, available exclusively at GNC retailers in the US.

Each 11oz serving of Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein drink has 24g of protein from 100% whey protein concentrate and 5.5g of naturally occurring branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs).

The drinks come in vanilla and chocolate flavours, in single servings (with a suggested retail price of $3.29) and a 12-pack case ($34.99). 

“This is a huge development for longtime fans of ON protein, and for new users, who are looking for a way to supplement that fits in today’s on-the-go lifestyle,” said Sarah Lombard, director of brand marketing for Optimum Nutrition.

Though best served chilled, the beverage doesn’t require refrigeration until opened, increasing consumption occasions.
