Pago – the iconic Italian brand of fruit juices – has launched a new rhubarb and pear flavour in the UK.
The sophisticated combination takes the brand’s full range of UK flavours to 15, and was informed by crowdsourced feedback from consumers on social media.
The Pago brand is distributed in the UK through Premium Beverages, who said they recognised the growth in popularity of the rhubarb and pear combination across Europe.
Premium Beverages considers Pago’s extensive range as a ‘key strength’ with so many consumers opting for a soft drink at the bar, rather than an alcoholic one. The distributor is ‘confident’ that the flavour will meet the needs of a growing number of premium soft beverage drinkers who are demanding a broader choice of flavours.
Marvin Henshaw, managing director of Premium Beverages, said: “This is an exciting new chapter for the Pago brand. We were overwhelmed with the success of our crowdsourcing activity and the popularity of the rhubarb and pear flavour.
“Through our social media channels we were able to gain a better understanding of why consumers would choose this flavour, where and when they would drink it. By reaching out directly to consumers we are launching this flavour with confidence that it’s going to be a big hit. We’re ultimately giving the customer what they’ve asked for.”
Since its launch in France, Pago rhubarb and pear juice has quickly grown to success both among consumers and foodservice outlets.
It is available to order now, with various special offers to both retailers and wholesalers to support the launch.
