The company believes this will increase recycling and reuse to minimise environmental impact and reduce carbon footprint.
All Waterlogic water coolers will now be serviced with the new filter systems, with Biocote for hygiene protection. The new filters have the best quality carbon filtration, exceed all legislative standards and are supplied by one of the largest carbon manufacturers.
Previously, the entire filter unit in mains-fed water coolers would be replaced when serviced. However, the new filter systems from Waterlogic (CBC and GAC) ensure that the plastic housing with Biocote is retained, cleaned and reused rather than sent to landfill.
The internal parts are then recycled, including the plastic filter block ends, or the plastic capsule containing the filtration granules.
Only the CBC carbon filter block or GAC carbon filtration granules themselves are now replaced and disposed of, dramatically decreasing the amount of material sent to landfill by over 81% and avoiding the unnecessary disposal of plastic parts.
PHS Waterlogic MD David Matthews explained: “We aim to lead the market not only in terms of service but also in sustainability and corporate social responsibility. We deliver not only the best drinking water service in the market, but also innovate to allow our customers to reduce their carbon footprint, reduce environmental impact and to use resources responsibly and efficiently.”
