The award was accepted on behalf of Polymer Solutions International by Craig Scott, the company’s MD of international sales.
Given annually, the Aqua Awards are presented by Watercoolers Europe (WE), previously known as the European Bottle Water Association (EBWA). The award was given during WE/EBWA’s 17th annual convention and trade fair, Water Show 2011, held this year in Odessa, Ukraine.
The Aqua Award’s selection committee found the pallet’s telescoping double leg design to be a breakthrough concept, as it produces superior strength and damage protection to both the pallet and the bottled water products stored and transported on it. The pallet is an integral component of the ProStack PS4 bottled water rack modules.
The enhanced strength and rigidity engineered into the legs, the pallet offers superior resistance to potential damage caused by forklift and pallet jack impacts.
Dan Kelly, president and CEO of Polymer Solutions International, said: “Since 95% of damage to modular plastic bottled water racks is typically caused by forklifts and pallet jacks as they interface with the pallet, using the complete ProStack system provides total bottle protection. Further, the pallet makes bottled water rack stacking faster and safer.”
In its choice of the pallet to win the Aqua Award, the selection committee also cited the pallet’s gas-assisted molding process, which yields a super smooth finish, superior stiffness and outstanding impact properties, as well as its hygienic design that resists bacteria, mold and other contaminants with an open-grid top deck that is easy to clean and inspect.
