Gourmet yogurt brand The Collective has introduced a new flavour that combines four different ‘super berries’.
The limited-edition yogurt – made from boysenberries, raspberries, blackberries and açaí – features the brand’s thick live yogurt topped with a double layer of ‘rich and jammy’ berry conserve. It is packed in 450g tubs and will be available until May in all major UK retailers, with a recommended retail price of £2 per pot.
The açaí berries will provide antioxidants, while the inclusion of boysenberries – a hybrid between the raspberry, blackberry, dewberry and loganberry – is particularly noteworthy for the UK market. The Collective produces four different boysenberry products in New Zealand, where the brand began, but it is much less of a common sight on British retail shelves.
Amelia Harvey, co-founder of The Collective, said: “The Collective is excited to be launching a super berry-packed limited edition. This flavour will be perfect for adding to breakfast smoothies or even having as a guilt-free dessert in the winter months.
“Adding boysenberries to yogurt is a first in the UK and with our Kiwi roots, we’re proud to be using a fruit that is so popular down under.
“Releasing limited editions in this way allows us to keep innovation at the heart of our brand, providing exciting new varieties for consumers alongside the popular flavours in our range.”
The brand’s previous limited-edition launch was a honeyed plum and stem ginger limited edition in tribute to its co-founder.
Like all of The Collective’s range, the latest creation is free from artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. It is suitable for vegetarians, is gluten free and is packed with live cultures.
It will be available through major supermarkets such as Waitrose, Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury’s – as well as online supermarket Ocado, natural food retailer Whole Foods, and convenience chain Nisa.
