Iced tea manufacturer Tradewinds has launched a new range of tropical iced tea drinks inspired by singer and songwriter Jimmy Buffett.
Jimmy Buffett’s Island Tea is available in five exotic flavours: pineapple-coconut white tea; peach-mango and strawberry-lime black teas; tropical citrus green tea; and paradise punch hibiscus tea. The 18.5oz single-serve bottles contain just 110 calories per serving and have been rolled out in grocery, mass and convenience retailers across the US market with a recommended retail price of $1.39–$1.69.
Tradewinds has partnered with Margaritaville Enterprises, which manages the Mississippi-born singer’s business interests, to produce the line of drinks. Buffett’s biggest hits included Cheeseburger in Paradise and Margaritaville, and his work has been described as the “humorous chronicles of a laid-back seafaring life” by Rolling Stone magazine.
Tradewinds associate marketing manager Julia Balakrishnan: “We are so excited to be partnered with Margaritaville, as both Tradewinds and Jimmy Buffett embody relaxation and escapism. These Island Teas will send you to a guilt-free tropical oasis after just one sip.”
Margaritaville Foods president Tom Keane said: “Our goal is to provide people the chance to experience the Margaritaville way of life, whatever their latitude, and the launch of Jimmy Buffett’s Island Tea line will create that escape with every delicious taste. We’re thrilled to be partnering with such a well-regarded and like-minded brand as Tradewinds.”
