Unilever has introduced its latest limited-edition Ben & Jerry’s flavour called One Sweet World – a blend of coffee caramel ice cream with swirls of marshmallow and salted caramel with chocolate chunks.
Ben & Jerry’s said that the pint is filled with more than just chunks and swirls – it is a part of the brand’s larger efforts to ‘advance issues of social and economic justice’.
As part of its commitment, the brand will donate a portion of One Sweet World sales to support those working at the intersection of economic and racial justice.
Ben & Jerry’s said that from LGBTQ rights and marriage equality, to Occupy Wall Street, the brand has ‘used the power of its business to motivate fans and promote policies that advance the cause of social justice’.
CEO Jostein Solheim said: “We believe that when people come together, particularity in this time of racial, economic and political divisions, we can create a more just, equitable, and yes, even a little bit sweeter world.”
The limited-edition One Sweet World flavour is available in the US with a recommended retail price of $4.89.
Last month, Ben & Jerry’s vegan ice cream was launched in the UK as the brand aims to tap into growing popularity of vegan alternative foods.
