Dried fruit, nut and seed supplier Whitworths has added a new line of mixed snack pouches to its current snacking range.
Whitworths Fusions takes natural ingredients and blends them together in creative new ways – from sweet and zesty to crisp and juicy, or mellow and spicy. The new packs will be available in supermarket chains Tesco, Morrisons and Waitrose from this month, packaged in pouch sizes between 90g and 110g.
The new product varieties include cinnamon apple jumble, which combines chopped dates, cinammon apple pieces, pecan halves and raisins; bountiful coconutty, featuring raisins, dark chocolate-covered coconut pieces, brazil nuts and almonds; and berryfruit madness, which includes crimson raisins, juice-infused strawberries, cranberries and blackcurrants. To celebrate the range’s launch, the brand has also release a limited-edition chilli nutty cocoa chaos mix, which has raisins, cashews, almonds and dark chocolate spheres in it.
Their introduction has been announced amid 9% year-on-year growth within the adult snacking market, driven by double-digit growth within the dried fruit and nut mixes category, and comes at a time when 98% of the UK population now regularly snacks at home, work or at a place of study, according to figures cited by Whitworths.
Whitworths head of marketing Phil Gowland said: “We go to great lengths to source and select the finest ingredients, and we’ve matched that with extensive taste tests to make sure the Fusions blends are exactly right. The result is a truly different product, and a snacking option that is healthier with no sacrifice on taste.
“This is also the first time our new packaging is being showcased and it highlights a more vibrant, exciting and enticing Whitworths which we hope will encourage consumers to try all of the brilliant products we have, across both our baking and snacking ranges.”
