Barry Callebaut Beverages has introduced three single-origin cocoa and chocolate drinks, described as one of the company’s “most exciting launches to date”.
The Bensdorp’s Barista product line is perfect for use in the horeca market, Barry Callebeaut said, where it will complement the artisanal positioning of coffee.
Each drink boasts its own individual flavour and is made from selected sun-dried cocoa, which is roasted, ground and milled before being blended with pure cane sugar. The three variants available are Peru single-origin chocolate drink, with a rich taste that is matched by its distinctive red colour and hints of wine, fruit and sour and bitter notes; Tanzania single-origin chocolate drink from a rare cocoa bean that combines intensity and bitterness with fruitiness, hints of vanilla and aromatic citrus notes; plus Ecuador single-origin cocoa drink, which boasts an earthier taste, intense chocolate flavour and impressions of cinnamon and tropical fruit.
Each of the drinks reflects the unique characteristics of the beans’ country of origin, the company said. It will officially unveil the line at Caffe Culture, to be held in London next month.
