The orange juice drink is just 50 calories per glass and has 50% less sugar than standard juices due to the use of extract of stevia leaf, which has a natural sweetness and zero calorific properties.
“Since launching Del Monte Naturally Light two years ago, the range has gone from strength to strength,” said Refresco Gerber commercial director James Logan. “With the recent increased media coverage around the sugar content of juices and soft drinks, we anticipate the Del Monte Naturally Light orange flavour will have a broad appeal and become a core staple at the breakfast table and other occasions.”
The orange-flavour juice drink retails for £1.59 and has an initial listing in Sainsbury’s. It will be listed in Waitrose from April 2014.
