Jack Link’s has released a new jerky range under its Peperami brand in a move to meet demand for convenient meat offerings with higher protein content.
Sold in resealable packs, the Peperami Tender Jerky line is now available in the UK in two flavours: original and hot.
The innovation blends cured, dried and beechwood smoked beef and pork – and features 75 calories per serving.
“We are delighted to introduce our range of new Peperami Tender Jerky to the category and offer shoppers more choice within this thriving sector,” said Pavan Chandra, marketing manager at Peperami.
“As the category is experiencing considerable growth currently, our new ready-to-eat jerky provides a great opportunity for retailers to drive sales within their current meat snacks portfolio whilst also providing shoppers with a convenient post-workout or afternoon protein snack.”
The launch is being supported by a seven-figure integrated marketing campaign.
Peperami Tender Jerky is now available in Tesco and Asda stores in the UK with a recommended retail price of £2.75 per 70g pack.
Earlier this year, Jack Link’s launched Peperami and Cheese Snack Box, made using 100% pork salami and 100% mild cheddar.
US-based Jack Link’s acquired Unilever’s meat snacks business – including the Peperami and BiFi brands – in 2014.
