Mars will introduce three new limited-edition Snickers bar flavours as part of a marketing campaign to show how the snack satisfies when hunger strikes.
The new variants are: espresso, fiery, and salty and sweet. Each flavour is paired with hunger symptoms that feature on the outside of the packaging to ‘help fans solve their specific hunger symptom’. Irritable goes with espresso, wimpy with fiery, and indecisive is paired with salty and sweet.
Snickers senior brand manager Michael Italia said: “Snickers knows that when you’re hungry, you lose your flavour and turn into your less desirable self.
“Our new flavours paired with hunger symptoms provide an extended dimension to show how Snickers ultimately satisfies when hunger strikes.”
The new bars will be available in the US from June 2018. Mars plans to support the launch with a variety of marketing tactics, including in-store promotions, consumer activations, and social media.
The launch follows on from last year’s release of Snickers hazelnut.
